Our certified procedures conform to the guidelines set out by the International Society of Forensic Genetics (ISFG) and the voluntary Code of Practice and Guidance on genetic paternity testing services in the UK 2001. We also subscribe to the Good Practice Guide on Paternity Testing Services 2008.
What is DNA paternity testing?
DNA paternity testing is a scientific process that can positively identify relationships between people by analysing their DNA. In particular, it can conclusively determine whether a man is the true biological father of a child or not, and is therefore widely recognised as the definitive paternity test.
DNA paternity testing detects and analyses certain regions of the genetic code that vary greatly between unrelated people. By using several genetic tests, the DNA at a number of these regions can be analysed and compared, to determine if people are related.
