Here at AlphaBiolabs we are proud to play our part in the fight against coronavirus, by offering our NHS evaluated, rapid IgM-IgG combined antibody test.
When coronavirus took hold in the UK, we donated a large number of kits to a North West-based NHS trust to assist in the detection of COVID-19 cases. Our kits have since been evaluated and deemed as ‘fit for use’ by the Trust, and they are now part of their own employee-wide screening program.
This timely endorsement should provide some peace of mind to businesses and business leaders looking to re-engage with their workforces across the UK. As the Government encourages the country to get back to work, health and safety will be at the forefront of many a HR teams’ mind, so let us help take the worry out of protecting your workforce from a spread of the virus within your offices, factory floors and worksites.
The AlphaBiolabs’ IgM-IgG Combined Antibody Rapid Test is one of the world’s first rapid screening tests for the identification of coronavirus infection. It is already used in Germany as part of many screening programs and forms a vital part of our range of testing services designed to keep you and your employees safe when at work.
Our COVID-19 screening test determines whether an individual has had previous exposure to the virus, by looking for specific antibodies produced by the immune system in response to the COVID-19 antigen. If they are found, our test has a built-in dual capacity to show whether exposure to the COVID-19 virus is recent or ‘historic’, by examining your blood sample for the presence of two specific types of antibodies.
Detection of IgM antibodies indicates an ongoing, current exposure to COVID-19, whereas detection of IgG antibodies indicates a later stage of infection. It can therefore help an individual get clearer on, a) do I currently have an active COVID-19 infection, or b) have I already had a COVID-19 infection and have since recovered?
This level of knowledge can also be a game-changer for employers looking to safely welcome back their workforce. It could play a vital role in getting your business back up and running, providing your employees with some much-needed reassurance and ultimately, making a difference to your bottom line.
The rapid, finger-prick test can be carried out onsite by a trained professional (or by the person themselves). Results will be shown in 15 minutes with no need for a laboratory or third party.
All of our COVID-19 screening kits contain, amongst other components; high quality, CE-marked, German-made COVID-19 immunoassay screening devices. They are carefully packaged with clear instructions for use and disposal.
