Copywriter

We are a well-established, award-winning company based in Warrington, delivering toxicology and DNA testing services to the legal community, members of the public and companies across the UK. We now need an experienced Copywriter to join the team. This position is offered on a part-time basis, and we require the roleholder to work 15-20 hours per week.

The Role
You will be a key member of the Marketing team, working closely with other members of the team and the company as a whole to produce engaging online and offline copy for a variety of markets, both Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer.

The Person
You are a bright, ambitious individual possessing the following skills ad experience:

  • Experience with brand strategy
  • Experience of writing for a diverse range of audiences
  • Ability to write high quality, engaging, original, credible copy, both online and offline, which is consistent across the brand and all channels
  • Creative, able to suggest and implement ideas to engage readers in different markets
  • Good understanding of SEO best practices and how content can support SEO strategy.
  • Experienced in researching, analysing and interpreting data and information
  • Highly IT literate- able to use Microsoft Excel and Word and, preferably, Salesforce
  • Well organised, able to work on several projects at once, sometimes under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with colleagues across the company as well as external parties
  • Excellent attention to detail with flawless spelling and grammar
  • Able to work on own initiative and with little supervision
  • Creative agency experience (preferable)

Toxicology Scientist

The Company

We are a well-established, award-winning company, based in Warrington, delivering drugs, alcohol and DNA testing services to the legal community, members of the public and companies across the UK. Our Toxicology team is expanding to meet growing customer demand and we now need to recruit another scientist.

 

The Role:

The post holder will perform routine analyses using the techniques of immunoassay, gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS-MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS), to a legally defensible standard. As part of the role, the post holder will also carry out administrative tasks to ensure continuity of samples for each case and other general analytical chemistry laboratory procedures.

 

Key result areas:

  • Analysing samples for alcohol biomarkers and a range of drugs using instrumentation listed above
  • Evaluating and critically assessing data from analysis for the reporting scientist
  • To provide support services to the Toxicology Team, including reagent preparation, sample accessioning and lab maintenance.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment within the laboratory.
  • Provision and co-ordination of regular calibration, maintenance checks and stock control on instruments and equipment
  • Preparation of standards.
  • Adherence to Good Laboratory practice and quality systems.
  • Training new and existing employees.

 

The Person:

  • Similar experience of working in a laboratory environment, handling samples and using instrumentation, in particular LC-MS-MS and GC-MS-MS.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience delivering work of a high standard.
  • Organised, methodical, efficient.
  • IT literate, including use of XL.
  • Good teamworker.

Toxicology Reporting Scientist

The Company

We are a well-established, award-winning company, based in Warrington, delivering drugs, alcohol and DNA testing services to the legal community, members of the public and companies across the UK. Our Toxicology team is expanding to meet growing customer demand and we now need to recruit another Reporting Scientist.

 

The Role:

  • Writing and peer reviewing Technical Reports or Statements of Witness in accordance with the Quality Management System, ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 in a timely manner.
  • Responding to Customer Queries in an appropriate manner, including the production of technical reports, in a timely manner.
  • Supervising or undertaking laboratory processes in accordance with the Quality Management System, ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
  • Implementing and maintaining the company’s International Standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 17025, including meticulous record keeping and co-operating with internal audits.
  • Reporting of non-conformances, or trends toward these, to Line Manager and Quality Manager.
  • Ensuring that laboratories are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness in compliance with the scheduled cleaning procedures and that appropriate records are maintained to demonstrate this.
  • Ensuring that maintaining, performance monitoring and calibration checking of laboratory equipment is carried out on a scheduled basis and that technical problems, or trends toward these, are reported and actioned.
  • Training new and existing employees.

 

The Person:

  • Similar experience in interpreting and reporting toxicology results, preferably in a forensic toxicology environment.
  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment, handling samples and using instrumentation, in particular LC-MS-MS and GC-MS-MS.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience delivering work of a high standard.
  • Organised, methodical, efficient.
  • Very IT literate.
  • Good teamworker.
