AlphaBiolabs awarded Hull City Council contract for court-approved Drug, Alcohol and DNA Testing

We’re proud to announce that AlphaBiolabs has been awarded the contract to provide court-approved drug, alcohol, and DNA testing services for Hull City Council, following a rigorous competitive tender process.  

Our UKAS 17025-accredited, purpose-built DNA and toxicology laboratories will deliver the specialised testing on behalf of the authority for up to 4 years, supporting child safeguarding and Family Court proceedings across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

We employ state-of-the-art techniques at our laboratories in Warrington, Cheshire, to provide timely, accurate, and cost-efficient testing to meet a range of needs, and have over 20 years’ experience working with Family Courts and local authorities across the country.

To mark our closer relationship with Hull City Council, we are also donating £1,000 to four charities serving communities across Hull and East Riding.

This gesture reflects our longstanding commitment to giving back to the communities we serve, most notably through our ongoing Giving Back campaign, which makes bimonthly donations to charities nominated by family law and social work professionals across the UK.

The four charities receiving donations are:

  • ReNew Hull, which supports adults in Hull who are struggling with drugs or alcohol, providing accessible help for those who need it most.
  • Two Ridings Community Foundation, which offers grants and provides support to hundreds of grassroots community and charitable organisations across North and East Yorkshire.
  • The Alcohol & Drug Service, a charity that provides services and support for alcohol and drug users in the Hull, East Riding and Doncaster region.
  • Hull Women’s Aid, which provides safe and secure refuge accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
