What is the AlphaBiolabs Home Hair Drug Test?
Whether you have concerns about a child or family member using drugs, or simply want a test for other reasons, our new Home Hair Drug Test allows you to collect your own hair sample easily, discreetly and in your own time.
Our Home Hair Drug Test will give you up to a 12-month overview of drug use and can detect 13 drugs and their metabolites.
Simply collect your sample and return it to our accredited testing laboratory, for 100% accurate results in only 7-8 working days.
You can submit head hair, facial hair or body hair, but not a combination. You can even submit hair collected from a hairbrush.

As the name implies, the peace of mind Home Hair Drug Test can lessen any worries that you might have, or enable you to seek support for a loved one who has been misusing drugs, but it cannot be used for legal purposes.

How does a hair drug test work?
When a person consumes drugs, they are broken down by the liver, and some of the drug and/or its metabolites (breakdown products) are absorbed into the bloodstream.
Through the bloodstream, they then enter the hair follicle and become trapped in the innermost layer of the hair shaft. This makes it possible to detect them during analysis at our toxicology laboratory.
It is possible for drugs to remain detectable in a hair sample for up to 12 months, depending on the type/length of hair available for testing.
