AlphaBiolabs supports family law and social work professionals

AlphaBiolabs supports family law and social work professionals with 20% off legal alcohol testing throughout January and February

AlphaBiolabs is supporting family law professionals and social workers by offering a 20 per cent discount on all legal alcohol testing until 28th February 2022.

Throughout January and February, our comprehensive range of alcohol testing services – including blood tests (PEth, CDT, LFT and MCV), head hair testing, instant breath analysis and more – will be available at this reduced rate (quote ALC20 when ordering).

Rachel Davenport, Commercial Director at AlphaBiolabs, says: “The start of the new year is one of the busiest times for family law professionals and social workers, many of whom work with vulnerable families and children whose lives are impacted by chronic and excessive alcohol consumption.

“Offering our legal alcohol testing services at a reduced rate ensures that they are even more accessible during this particularly busy period.”

    • Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) – a direct biomarker of alcohol, and the most accurate of any blood alcohol test
    • Carbohydrate deficient transferrin (CDT)
    • Liver function test (LFT)
    • Mean corpuscular volume (MCV)
  • Nail alcohol testing – 12-month overview (EtG)

Which tests should I choose?

We understand that every case is different, which is why we offer a wide variety of tests to create the most complete picture of a person’s alcohol use – be it long- or short-term.

For the most in-depth overview, our Comprehensive Alcohol Analysis Packages combine your choice of blood alcohol tests (Peth or CDT, LFT and MCV) with hair alcohol testing (EtG and EtPa), a Statement of Witness report and sample collection by one of our UK-wide network of trained sample collectors.

A Statement of Witness report will be provided by one of our highly experienced Reporting Scientists, including a full breakdown of the tests performed, the results, and a conclusion based on the evidence. Sample collection can be undertaken from an address of your choice, your office, client’s home, place of work, or another convenient location.

Rachel Davenport added: “When selecting your blood alcohol tests, we strongly recommend including a Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) blood test wherever possible.

“This is because – as a direct biomarker of alcohol – PEth is the absolute best indicator of chronic and excessive alcohol use over time.

“Formed on the surface of a red blood cell, it requires ethanol for its production, and can only be detected when alcohol has been consumed.”
