Grandparents secretly DNA test baby

A dad has banned his parents from ever visiting his family again after he discovered they secretly did a DNA test on his baby. The reason they gave was that they didn’t trust his wife. The parents had voiced their disapproval of their son’s wife and even refused to give their blessing when they got married. After 2 years of not speaking, the grandparents got in touch again after the wife gave birth to a boy named Garreth. They then began to visit regularly.

In his anonymous post on the US social news site Reddit, the man said: “One day while dad and mum were playing with Garreth, mum said something along the lines of ‘aren’t you the cutest baby ever? I am so glad to confirm you are indeed my grandson’.” When asked what she meant by that, the grandmother apologised before confessing to have DNA tested Garreth to confirm he was indeed their grandchild.

“I was speechless for a moment before I blew up from anger. My mum was very apologetic and said it is because they don’t trust my wife and that our son looks nothing like me.”

He then told his parents to leave and said they are no longer welcome in his son’s life.

What is grandparent DNA testing?

Grandparent DNA tests can be used to establish a biological relationship between an individual and one or more of their alleged grandparents.
