Imagine being able to determine whether a man is a baby’s biological father before the baby is born. And imagine if this was 100% safe too. Sounds too good to be true? Well read on, because AlphaBiolabs’ prenatal paternity testing is non-invasive, risk-free and available in Glasgow.
The test works by analysing blood and mouth swab samples only. Because a baby inherits DNA from both of its parents, AlphaBiolabs’ prenatal paternity test can identify if a man is the father of a baby by looking at three samples:
- the pregnant woman’s DNA
- the man’s DNA
- and the unborn baby’s DNA
How does the DNA prenatal paternity test work?
The test works by analysing the baby’s DNA within the mother’s bloodstream and can be performed as early as 7 weeks after conception (or 9 weeks after the last period). The mother only needs to provide a blood sample so there are no side effects or risk of miscarriage. The alleged father’s sample simply involves using a mouth swab to collect DNA from his cheek cells.
When the blood and swab samples are received back at our award-winning UK laboratory, our scientists recover the DNA and identify which half of the baby’s DNA is inherited from the mother and which half is from the father. If the tested man is indeed the biological father, both baby and father will share DNA.
The results are available within 7 days for £875 or our express 4-day service costs an additional £200. To help you pay for this test, a 6-months interest-free credit option is also available upon request. Call now on 0333 600 1300 to apply.
DNA prenatal paternity testing options in Glasgow
There are three sample collection options for your prenatal paternity tests in and around Glasgow:
- The blood and mouth swab samples can be collected at our Walk in Centre at the Glasgow Medical Rooms (211 St Vincent Street, G2 5QY)
- We can arrange for one of our highly trained sample collectors to come to your house, your place of work, or anywhere else convenient to collect your samples
- Or you can request that your GP (or another medical professional) take your samples (please note there may be a fee for this option)
The blood and mouth swab samples do not need to be collected at the same location, but they should be collected around the same time to avoid any delays and the risk of the blood samples haemolysing.
