Safety critical medicals in London

AlphaBiolabs offers safety critical medical assessments in and around London. Not only are these conveniently located to save you time, they can also save you money.

The medicals are designed to ensure that anyone undertaking safety critical tasks is healthy and competent to perform their work. This is vital as any employee who may work in a potentially dangerous environment needs to be fit to do so. Examples of safety critical roles are wide ranging and include plant operators, scaffolders and riggers, mechanical handling equipment operators, drivers and roadside workers. In other words, any occupation that exposes staff to potential danger in the form of heights, machinery, confined spaces and other hazards to health.

Why use AlphaBiolabs?

AlphaBiolabs offers a complete package of safety critical medical assessments combined with drug and alcohol testing. These can be performed at our dedicated testing facilities at our Walk in Centre in London*. Appointments can be scheduled quickly to meet urgent needs, and could save you more than £100. Alternatively, our nationwide network of medical professionals can visit a convenient location (whether your workplace or home) to undertake these assessments.

What does the safety critical medical include?

The safety critical medical takes around 1 hour and includes a general health questionnaire, Snellen (eye), audiometry (hearing test), lung function, urinalysis, blood pressure as well as height, weight and body mass index (BMI). Samples are taken for the drug and alcohol tests, and if required, can be sent back to our laboratory for confirmation testing. If lab confirmations are needed, we can provide next day results.

You don’t need to prepare, or bring anything with you to the medical assessment apart from any medication that you may be taking.
