AlphaBiolabs launches charity campaign to support vulnerable children & families
Press Release: 30th April 2021
The new campaign will see the Warrington-based DNA, drug and alcohol testing laboratory donate £5 to charity for every legal instruction received.
Rachel Davenport, Director at AlphaBiolabs said: “As a leading provider of DNA, drug and alcohol testing, we work closely with local authorities and organisations involved in child welfare and family law. We are highly aware of the daily challenges faced by the vulnerable children, families and communities our sample collectors visit every day.”
She added: “We also want to recognise the efforts of local, regional and national charities for the life-changing help and advice they offer to those affected by poverty, illness and addiction.”
Throughout the pandemic, many charities suffered a reduction in funding, combined with a greater demand for their services. A number of these charities also have very limited financial reserves to fall back on.
AlphaBiolabs selected four charities to support as part of the Giving Back campaign, including The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa), National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs (SFAD) and TGP Cymru.
“We are incredibly proud to offer our support to these four very worthy causes”, said Rachel Davenport.
“We have direct contact with the communities that depend so heavily on these charities. We hope that our Giving Back campaign will help them to continue supporting vulnerable children and families throughout 2021.”
Piers Henriques, Head of Communications at Nacoa commented: “Nacoa answered more than 30,000 requests for help in 2020, in spite of a hugely challenging picture for charities during the pandemic. That’s why we are proud charity partners of AlphaBiolabs, and we join them in championing the needs of the most vulnerable children across the UK.”
Paula Hanford, NYAS Head of Income Generation and Fundraising added: “We are very grateful that AlphaBiolabs have chosen to support NYAS as one of their charities. The donations raised will go towards funding our vital Helpline service, which helps to make sure the voices, wishes and feelings of care-experienced children and young people are heard.”
