AlphaBiolabs raises over £40,000 for vulnerable children and families with Giving Back campaign
Press Release: 5th July 2022
The company, which provides DNA, drug, alcohol, Covid-19, and health testing services for members of the public, the legal sector, and the workplace sector, launched its Giving Back campaign in 2021, donating £5 for every legal instruction received to four charities that work with vulnerable children and families across the UK.
Each of the charities – The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa), Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs (SFAD), Welsh children’s charity, TGP Cymru, and the Wirral-headquartered National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) – has received over £10,000 in donations since the campaign began in 2021.
The company has committed to continuing the Giving Back campaign into 2023.
Rachel Davenport, Director at AlphaBiolabs, said: “With many years’ experience providing legally-instructed drug and alcohol testing, we have seen first-hand the impact that substance misuse can have on vulnerable children and their families.
“We could never have anticipated what a phenomenal difference our donations would make to these four incredible organisations, enabling them to continue their amazing work supporting vulnerable people across the country.
“The campaign is now in its second year, and we can’t wait to see how much we’re able to raise in the next 12 months.”
Hilary Henriques MBE, Chief Executive of Nacoa, said: “Support from AlphaBiolabs means the world to us because through their work with the legal sector, they know exactly how important it is to support children of alcoholics, especially when a parent’s addiction is active and untreated.
“Their generous support means helpline counsellors will be there to answer calls from children and concerned others from all over the UK.”
