Ireland’s first walk-in centre for DNA, drug and alcohol testing opens in Dublin

The new walk-in centre, located at Harcourt Centre on Harcourt Road in Dublin, and operated by leading DNA, drug, and alcohol testing provider, AlphaBiolabs, is the first of its kind in Ireland, providing members of the public with support when collecting biological samples for both peace of mind and legally-instructed DNA, drug and/or alcohol tests.
Members of the public using the walk-in centre will have access to experienced clinicians, who have been specially trained to collect a range of samples, including cheek (buccal) swabs for DNA testing, as well as hair, nail, blood, breath, urine, and oral fluid (saliva) samples for drug and/or alcohol testing purposes.
As well as assistance with sample collection for peace of mind DNA tests, such as paternity, maternity, and other types of DNA relationship test, customers can also arrange to have samples collected for legally-instructed DNA, drug, and alcohol tests.
Unlike a peace of mind test, which is done purely for your own personal information, samples for a legally-instructed laboratory test must be collected under strict chain of custody conditions for the results of the test to be admissible in court.
All AlphaBiolabs’ DNA, drug and alcohol test results are court-approved and can be used as supporting evidence in a variety of legal matters, including Family Law Court.
