Oral Fluid Drug Testing
Oral Fluid Drug Testing
Drug abuse in the workplace can cause issues for employers due to more on-the- job accidents, increased absenteeism and lower productivity. Oral fluid testing supports the company’s drug and alcohol policy and helps to alleviate these risks by screening out applicants and employees who use drugs.
We offer a cost- effective pre-employment, random, for-cause and post-incident testing service, with experienced collectors on call 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to support your needs.
Oral fluid drug testing is easy to administer and detects recent drug use -typically up to a maximum of two days and is best used to assess what is in the donor’s system at the current time. It has become an increasingly popular alternative to urine testing in the workplace.
We can offer on -site testing using our oral fluid drug testing kits, either by our trained collectors or we can train your company representatives to observe the sample collection themselves. Sample collections usually take about five minutes and the employee can collect their own samples under direct supervision, reducing the possibility of tampering or an employee challenge later in the process.
If the testing is negative, the employee is free to return to work. However, if the on-site testing is non-negative, a laboratory confirmation is required. We understand the disruption that can be caused if key personnel provide a non-negative sample and so we have developed a rapid, reliable same day confirmation service if required. We can also offer a next day or a three day confirmation service if this suits your needs – each service is legally defensible as robust, confidential, chain of custody conditions are adhered to at all times.
The samples are transported to our ISO17025 accredited laboratory where our highly trained and experienced laboratory staff will use state-of-the-art equipment to analyse the samples and provide the results in a timescale to suit your needs.
A Toxicological assessment, including medical review if required, can help to determine the origin of the drugs and whether they are over-the-counter or prescribed medication. Expert witness testimony for court purposes and tribunals can also be provided
