Onsite coronavirus antibody test – for business and professional use only
The AlphaBiolabs IgM-IgG Combined Antibody Rapid Test is one of the world’s first rapid screening tests for the identification of coronavirus infection from 21 days after exposure to the virus or 7 days onwards after the onset of symptoms. This accurate screening test is used widely in Germany to identify a body’s response to COVID-19 infections and has been deemed ‘fit for use’ from the NHS. Please see the attached letter here.
During an extensive review of the technical data of the current COVID-19 immunoassay devices available, our scientific team deemed our COVID-19 screening devices as the most accurate. Additionally, the reliability and accuracy of our COVID-19 antibody screening kits has been verified during a recent NHS evaluation.
The individually packaged, single-use antibody test detects both early and late marker IgM/IgG antibodies in human finger-prick blood samples, therefore highlighting a recent infection that may still be active (IgM) or a previous infection (IgG).

Keep your workforce safe
Screening your workforce for coronavirus is vital. Recent studies suggest that a high percentage of patients show no or few clinical symptoms. This easy-to-administer test can be performed by the individual themselves, supervised by a health professional, or by a company nurse or Occupational Health personnel.
There are four simple steps:
- Collect blood sample
- Add blood sample to sample well (marked S)
- Place 2–3 drops of buffer solution in buffer well (marked B)
- Read results after 15 minutes
Each kit is individually packaged and screens one person. Single use.

Results
A total of three detection lines are possible. The control (C) line appears when the sample flows through the cassette. Please note, due to the length of time required for your body to respond to infections (to mount an immunological response), antibody testing is reliable after a minimum of 21 days from the point of infection or from 7 days after the onset of symptoms.

Negative Result
If only the quality control (C) line appears, then no novel coronavirus antibody has been detected and the result is negative. If the control line doesn’t appear, the test has been unsuccessful and needs to be repeated.

If both the quality control line (C) and the detection line M appears, the coronavirus specific IgM antibody has been detected indicating a current ongoing COVID-19 infection.

If both the quality control line (C) and the detection line G appears, the coronavirus IgG antibody has been detected indicating a previous COVID-19 infection, up to 6 weeks prior.

If the quality control line (C) and both detection lines G and M appear, the coronavirus IgG and IgM antibodies have been detected indicating a recent COVID-19 infection that is still active.
How does the coronavirus antibody screening test work?
AlphaBiolabs rapid IgM-IgG combined antibody test for COVID-19 is a portable lateral flow immunoassay screening device which uses a finger-prick blood sample to detect your body’s immunological response to an active or recent exposure to the SARS CoV-2 virus (COVID-19)
- Detection of IgM antibodies indicates a current ongoing COVID-19 infection.
- Detection of IgG antibodies indicates a later stage of infection.
Thus, this combined antibody test could also provide information on the stage of infection.
Please note: this test is for business / professional use only, not for members of the public.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the coronavirus test?
How does the coronavirus test work?
Therefore, testing for the presence of COVID-19 IgM and IgG antibodies is an effective method to detect your body’s immunological response to a COVID-19 infection.
- Detection of IgM antibodies tends to indicate a current ongoing infection.
- Detection of IgG antibodies indicates a later stage of infection.
Our immunoassay COVID-19 testing kits have a screening device containing a colloidal gold-labelled recombinant novel coronavirus antigen and quality control antibody colloidal gold marker, two detection lines (G and M lines) and one quality control line (C) fixed on a nitrocellulose membrane. M is fixed with monoclonal anti-human IgM antibody for detecting the novel coronavirus IgM antibody. G is fixed with monoclonal antihuman IgG antibody for detecting the novel coronavirus IgG antibody.
How quickly can I get the results?
How accurate is the coronavirus test?
The performance data from our screening device manufacturers show the sensitivity is greater than 99.9% diagnostic sensitivity for IgG detection, with a 91.8% diagnostic sensitivity for IgM detection. The diagnostic specificity for IgG reaches 99.5%, whereas the diagnostic specificity for IgM is 99.2%.
However, during the NHS evaluation, it was determined after 21 days from point of infection, that the diagnostic sensitivity of our immunoassay is 98.8% for IgM and 100% for IgG detection. Diagnostic specificity for IgM and IgG was also notified at 100%.
How do I understand the results?
Negative Result
If only the quality control (C) line appears, then no novel coronavirus antibody has been detected and the result is negative.
Positive Result, M only
If both the quality control line (C) and the detection line M appears, then the novel coronavirus IgM antibody has been detected and the result is positive for the IgM antibody.
Positive Result, G only
If both the quality control line (C) and the detection line G appears, then the novel coronavirus IgG antibody has been detected and the result is positive for the IgG antibody.
Positive Result, G and M
If the quality control line (C) and both detection lines G and M appear, then the novel coronavirus IgG and IgM antibodies have been detected and the result is positive for both the IgG and IgM antibodies.
