Rapid COVID-19 S1-NAb antibody test with results in just 10 minutes

This Covid-19 S1-NAb antibody test requires a simple finger-prick blood sample to detect the presence of neutralising antibodies in the blood. No laboratory testing is required, and you’ll get your results in just 10 minutes.

After your vaccination or a Covid-19 infection, the immune system begins to produce antibodies specific to the SARS CoV -2 (Covid-19) virus. However, only some of these antibodies will have a neutralising effect and prevent the virus from entering the host cell. By preventing or minimising the ability of the virus to replicate in the body, you may be able to prevent or minimise the debilitating symptoms associated with a Covid-19 infection.

Research has shown that the effectiveness of various Covid-19 specific vaccines ranges between 65% and 95%. By detecting neutralising antibodies, it’s possible to determine if a vaccination has been successful.

How do I understand the Covid-19 antibody test results?

Each test has an internal positive control. When the blue control line turns red, this is an indication that the test has been performed correctly. If the control line remains completely or partially blue at the specified reading time, the test is invalid.

Antibodies detected:
Blue control line (C) turns red.

Another red line appears in the test line region (T).

Antibodies not detected:
Blue control line (C) turns red.

No line appears in the test line region (T).

Invalid:
Blue control line (C) remains completely or partially blue.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this test work?

This Covid-19 antibody test uses a simple finger-prick blood sample to detect the presence of Covid-19-specific antibodies in the blood. No laboratory testing is required, and you’ll get your results in just 10 minutes.

Simply add the blood sample to the test specific lateral flow device, followed by two drops of the buffer solution. Then, read the test result after 10 minutes. Do not interpret the result after more than 20 minutes.

What’s included in a box of 20 test kits?

In a box of 20 test kits, you will receive:

  • 20 alcohol cleansing wipes
  • 40 blood lancets (20 + 20 spare, if required)
  • 20 pipettes
  • 20 test devices
  • bottle of buffer solution
  • instructions

What does my result mean?

If your Covid-19 antibody test result is positive, it means that neutralising antibodies are present in your blood sample. This means that your body may have developed an immune response to the virus.

If your Covid-19 antibody test result is negative, it means that no neutralising antibodies were detected in your blood sample. This means that it isn’t clear if your body has developed an immune response to the virus.

If I have Covid-19 antibodies, am I immune to Covid-19?

Even if you have Covid-19 antibodies, you should still continue to take precautions to avoid infection. It is still possible to become infected with the Covid-19 virus and for you to experience symptoms even after receiving a vaccine, but any symptoms might be less severe. It is also possible to carry and pass on the Covid-19 virus to others, even if you have antibodies.

Does this test only work for certain vaccines?

This Covid-19 antibody test can detect antibodies that are formed in your body once you have received vaccines from BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna®, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Sinovac Life Sciences. This test is suitable for use 2-3 weeks after your first or second vaccination.

Why do I need a Covid-19 antibody test?

A Covid-19 antibody test will let you know if you have neutralising antibodies either from your Covid-19 vaccine or from a recent Covid-19 infection.

Research has shown that the effectiveness of various Covid-19 specific vaccines ranges between 65% and 95%. By detecting neutralising antibodies, it’s possible to determine if a vaccination has been successful.

Will this test tell me whether I have Covid-19 now?

No. A positive Covid-19 antibody test result does not mean that you have a Covid-19 infection. To determine if you have a current Covid-19 infection, we recommend that you take a Covid-19 PCR test.

Will this test tell me if I have antibodies from a previous Covid-19 infection?

This Covid-19 antibody test is designed to tell you if you have antibodies from a Covid-19 vaccine or recent Covid-19 infection.

How accurate is this test?

The performance data relating to our Covid-19 antibody specific lateral flow test specifies a very high sensitivity of up to 99.9% and very high specificity of up to 99.5%. Only our laboratory Covid-19 antibody test demonstrates higher sensitivity and specificity values.

Can this test be used as evidence for international travel?

No, this test cannot be used for international travel purposes. International travel requirements are constantly changing, so we advise that you visit the government website for up-to-date international travel requirements.

We do provide Covid-19 testing for international travel. Find out more here.

Did my vaccine work?

This type of Covid-19 antibody test can give you a strong indication of whether you have neutralising antibodies, either from your Covid-19 vaccine or from a recent Covid-19 infection, that would help you fight a Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.

The effectiveness of vaccines against Covid-19 lies between 65% and 95%. By detecting neutralising antibodies, it’s possible to determine if a vaccination has been successful. However, it’s important to remember that even if antibodies are detected, there is no guarantee of immunity to the Covid-19 virus.

Can the Covid-19 antibody test tell me what type of vaccination have I received?

No, the Covid-19 antibody test can only inform you if Covid-19 specific antibodies are detected in your blood.
