AlphaBiolabs secures Hull City Council contract to deliver drug, alcohol, and DNA testing for up to 4 years

AlphaBiolabs has been awarded the contract to deliver specialised, court-approved drug, alcohol, and DNA testing services for Hull City Council, following a competitive tender process.

The Cheshire laboratory will provide drug, alcohol and DNA testing to support child safeguarding and Family Court proceedings across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire for up to four years, operating from its purpose-built DNA laboratory in Warrington.

AlphaBiolabs holds UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation and has worked with family courts and local authorities across the UK for more than 20 years. This latest contract adds to a growing portfolio of public sector partnerships, including a four-year contract to deliver court-approved drug, alcohol and DNA testing for Liverpool City Region (awarded in 2025).

To mark its closer relationship with Hull City Council, AlphaBiolabs has also donated £1,000 to four charities serving communities across Hull and East Riding: The Alcohol & Drug Service, Two Ridings Community Foundation, ReNew Hull, and Hull Women’s Aid.

The gesture reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the communities it serves, most notably through its ongoing Giving Back campaign, which makes bimonthly donations to charities nominated by family law and social work professionals across the UK.
